The Original Colour Lithograph was designed by Knut Yran for Pan American Airlines in 1957. Yran draws attention to Norways Viking past a magnificent wooden ship in a Norwegian fjord.
Knut Yran was a Norwegian illustrator, designer and poet. Early in his career he worked as a freelance designer, he designed many items ranging from watches to cruise ships. He was chief design consultant to the Norwegian Tourist Association and was consultant and designer for the Winter Olympic Games, held in Oslo in 1952.
