London - QANTAS Australias Overseas Airline

This rare London poster was created by for Qantas during the 1950s. A poster in the same style as his 'Hawaii' poster; a bright multi-coloured watercolour image on white paper depicting central London. Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, the Houses of Parliament and the hustle and bustle of London traffic, the red double deckers and cars.

Harry Rogers studied animation at UCLA in California which echoed in his famous Qantas posters. He enjoyed a long, prosperous association with Qantas as a freelance designer. He designed the iconic Qantas logo font in the mid-1960s. This Pacific Islands poster was part of a series and features a geometric style, employing bold colours with a prominent identifiable dominant image for the country the poster represented.
